So Where are We Headed Now...

"I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth. I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.”
--Eugene V. Debs

"There is only one way to rebel. You fight for all of the oppressed or none of the oppressed. You understand that there is no country. Our country is the earth. We are citizens of the world. Nationalism is a disease. It is a disease we must purge. As long as a Muslim family suffers in a refugee camp in Syria or an LGBT person suffers from the bigotry imposed by the Christian heretics in the Christian right, we all suffer." --Chris Hedge

I usually begin my writings with my own words, but I found that the words afore quoted are very appropriate for this piece. I have so much floating in my brain right now so I am not quite certain how my words will evolve...

Mainly, I am concerned for humanity and I need to write to keep my faith and my hope. I have not been watching the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, for I cannot stomach the insanity, but I have been keeping up with articles and interviews by alternative media. I am in profound thought and I am in deep concern for..."where are we headed now?"

It appears almost eminent that Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States and of course, this concerns not only the U.S., but also, the entire world. There is no doubt in my mind, that she will not only continue the disastrous policies that began with Harry Truman, she will bring these policies to new levels of demise. I certainly do not wish to appear pessimistic, only realistic...there are realities that we all must face as a world community if we are to have hope for a world that cares for all, for a world that does not bomb, for a world that does not go hungry, for a world that no longer forces massive refugees, forces one to leave their country in search of a "better" life, of one that fuels racism, of one that pays slave wages so that others may eat a bounty, of one that...

Dear people we can no longer afford to be beholden to the status quo, to propaganda that fills the media, that fills our schools, that poisons the heart and the mind. A status quo that refuses to look at what is true...to greed, to ecological detriment, to war, to killing and to dying, to crying mothers who have lost a son or a daughter to war, to the United States Military, to having to work so many long hours to keep food on the table...to those who live so comfortably upon the backs of others. For as long as their is suffering thereto you are suffering as well.

So, where are we headed now...? Will the wars continue and will we even create more? Will mothers continue to be asked to give up their children to these hideous wars? Will more countries be torn apart? Will more homeless be on the streets? Will the countries of Latin America, Asia, and Africa continue to be sacrificed at the alter of capitalism so that others can live well? I hope you...we all ask ourselves these questions, for they are real...they are reality.

The Mayan Prophecies did not declare the demise of our planet, but rather declared a turning point for humanity...we can change for the better or we would be on the path of no longer being...the Mayans believed that humanity has the choice.

Evo Morales, the President of Bolivia...Morales believes that the end of the long-count calendar of the Mayans, which coincides with the 2012 winter solstice, marks the beginning of a “new era of peace and love.”

“According to the Mayan calendar, the 21st of December is the end of the non-time and the beginning of time,” he told the UN in September, according to Indian Country Today. “It is the end of hatred and the beginning of love, the end of lies and beginning of truth.”

I want to believe this with all of my heart, yet it seems as if since the 2012 Winter Solstice, that war and hate are dominating and that lies are truth and the truth are the lies. I heard a North American Elder speak and he had said that all this insanity that is happening on the earth right now is all part of the world and humanity evolving and that the days of light are ahead, but the darkness must play itself out. This gives me hope and it keeps me fighting for truth, for justice, for the oppressed, for the person sleeping on the street, for those who are hungry, for those who are in war-torn lands, for those working in the fields for so little, for those are are sent to these wars of greed, for all and any that are crying...

I WILL NOT GIVE UP.

Join me please...
