Here I, a 51 year old woman, was given these flowers by a sweet and innocent 10th grader in high school. He was most likely about 16 years old. He had the biggest smile on his face, and he asked, ever so tenderly and politely, "would you go to my prom (dance night that is very special) with me, please"?...as he is handing me the flowers. I asked this tender young man, "when is your prom and what is your name." "My name is Fidel, and my prom is in two years, will you go with me, please." How could I resist, I said , yes of course, I would be honored Fidel." He was with several friends and they were filming all of this interaction and they were all so verrry happy and one said "hey, I'm going to go pick some flowers and give them to a pretty girl too." There is still young innocence and tenderness...this gives me great hope and joy, and for this reason I shared this simple, yet beautiful true scenario.
For hope, hope for now, and hope for the future is what Beamthe LightBetheChange is all about. Sometimes my posts will be serious, some will be poems, some will be simply shear delight as this. I will be sharing more and more shear and simple delight as the days pass by, for I am being given so many great and wonderful gifts...gifts, which are free...or better said, gifts of the heart, gifts that leap within your heart if we open ourselves to their beauty.
