When I first heard this beautiful song, I was in tears, it was the evening that I found out about the peaceful protesters in Gaza Strip, Palestine were being shot and gassed by drones overhead...my heart broke and all I could do was to cover my face as the tears streamed down endlessly. I cried at the horror that people, humanity can be so cruel and that a world can allow this to happen in front of the entire world.
Where has our compassion for humanity gone...when did one's own life become so much more important than the lives of all...? Why are not millions in the streets all over this world to stay "STOP!!!" I have said this so many time and I truly wonder how many listen or even care to listen..."until all Palestinians are free...until all oppressed peoples are free, then not one of us shall ever be free."
These words I don't not say to bring out guilt for everyone of us on this planet to act...no I say it for I know that it is true. You think you may be free in your comfortable life...or your life that may not be so comfortable, or a life in which you are truly given to others...there shall be no freedom...no peace...no comfort to any until all of this planet will be living free and side by side...
A life that focuses on money, how to make more money, and to live our lives at a pace that is ruled by money...our work...our paychecks...brings us a life of slavery...and not one of freedom...
